Using the Mobile App for Check-ins
The FeatsClub mobile app is the primary tool for checking in attendees at your event venue. The web dashboard shows check-in logs and stats, but QR code scanning is exclusively available on the mobile app.
Getting Started
Download the App
Before the Event
- Download and install the FeatsClub app on your phone or tablet
- Sign in with your organization account
- Make sure the event has QR Code enabled (this is set during event creation)
- Test the scanner with a sample ticket if possible
How Check-in Works
Scanning QR Codes
- Open the FeatsClub app and navigate to your event
- Tap the Check-in or Scan button
- Point your device camera at the attendee's QR code
- The app will validate the ticket and show:
- Green confirmation - Valid ticket, attendee checked in
- Already checked in - This ticket was already scanned
- Invalid - QR code is not valid or ticket was canceled
- The check-in is recorded immediately and syncs to the web dashboard
What Your Team Sees on Web
While your on-site team scans QR codes with the app, anyone monitoring the web dashboard can see:
- Total check-in count updating in real time
- Check-in logs with timestamps showing who was checked in and when
- Attendee status reflecting whether each ticket holder has arrived
Best Practices
Prepare Your Devices
- Charge fully - QR scanning uses the camera continuously, which drains battery
- Screen brightness - Set to maximum for scanning in bright outdoor conditions
- Internet connection - The app needs internet to validate tickets. Use mobile data as backup if venue Wi-Fi is unreliable.
Organize Your Entry Points
| Scenario | Setup |
|---|---|
| Small event (under 100) | 1 device, 1 check-in point |
| Medium event (100-300) | 2-3 devices, consider separate lanes |
| Large event (300+) | Multiple devices, dedicated lanes, a walk-in registration station with laptop |
Handle Edge Cases
- Attendee forgot their QR code: Look up their name or email in the attendee list on the web dashboard
- QR code won't scan: Check if the screen brightness is too low, or try entering the ticket ID manually
- No internet at venue: Check-ins will queue and sync when connection is restored
Web Dashboard for Monitoring
While the mobile app handles scanning, use the web dashboard on a laptop for:
- Issuing offline tickets for walk-ins
- Looking up attendee details
- Monitoring overall check-in progress
- Viewing real-time stats
