Creating & Issuing Certificates

App Only This feature is only available in the FeatsClub mobile app.

Step 3: Preview & Issue
(review the final certificate, then issue it)

Step 1: Select Certificate Design

The first step is choosing a professional design template from the Sertifier template library.

  1. Browse the available certificate designs.
  2. Each design shows a preview of the layout, colors, and style.
  3. Designs include placeholders for custom fields -- recipient name, date, hours, and other dynamic data that will be filled in during Step 2.
  4. Tap on a design to select it and proceed to Step 2.

tip

Choose a design that matches the type of recognition. For example, use a formal design with borders and seals for achievement awards, and a clean modern design for participation certificates.

Step 2: Fill Certificate Details

With a design selected, you now fill in the information that will appear on the certificate.

Certificate Title

Enter the title for the certificate. This is the main heading displayed prominently on the certificate.

Examples:

  • "Volunteer Service Certificate"
  • "Achievement Award"
  • "Program Completion Certificate"
  • "Community Leadership Recognition"

Certificate Description

Enter a description that explains what the certificate recognizes. This appears as supporting text on the certificate.

Examples:

  • "Recognizing 3 hours of community service at the City Food Bank"
  • "Awarded for outstanding performance in the Fall Soccer Tournament"
  • "In recognition of completing the Youth Leadership Program 2026"

Custom Fields

Custom fields are the dynamic data points that get mapped into the certificate design. If the certificate is attached to an endorsed activity, these fields are auto-populated from the activity data. Otherwise, enter them manually.

FieldSourceDescription
Recipient NameAuto-populated from member profileThe full name of the certificate recipient
DateAuto-populated from activity or entered manuallyThe date associated with the achievement
Hours / DurationAuto-populated for volunteering activitiesNumber of hours or duration of the activity
Cause / ActivityAuto-populated from activity or entered manuallyThe cause, program, or activity name
info

The available custom fields depend on the certificate design you selected in Step 1. Each design has specific placeholder fields that accept different types of data.

Signatories

Add one or more people who will officially sign the certificate. Each signatory requires:

FieldRequiredDescription
Signer NameYesThe full name of the person signing (e.g., "Jane Doe")
Signer TitleYesTheir role or title within the organization (e.g., "Executive Director", "Head Coach", "Program Lead")
Signature ImageNoUpload an image of their handwritten signature for a more authentic look

To add a signatory:

  1. Tap Add Signatory.
  2. Enter the signer's name and title.
  3. Optionally upload a signature image.
  4. Repeat to add additional signatories if needed.

tip

Add at least one signatory to give your certificates an official, professional appearance. Including the organization director or program lead adds credibility and makes the certificate more meaningful to the recipient.

Step 3: Preview & Issue

The final step lets you review everything before generating the certificate.

  1. Review the certificate preview -- See the final certificate with all fields filled in and the selected design applied.
  2. Verify all details -- Check the title, description, custom fields, and signatories for accuracy.
  3. Tap "Issue Certificate" to generate and distribute the certificate.

After you tap Issue Certificate:

  • The certificate image is generated via the Sertifier platform
  • The certificate status changes to Issued
  • The certificate image is stored and linked to the member's profile
  • The member receives a notification that a certificate has been issued
  • The certificate becomes available in the member's portfolio

caution

Review the certificate carefully before issuing. Once issued, the certificate is immediately visible to the member. If you need to correct an error, you will need to revoke the certificate and create a new one.

Creating a Certificate from an Endorsed Activity

You can also create a certificate directly from an endorsed activity. This is useful when you want to attach a formal certificate to a specific achievement.

  1. Navigate to an endorsed activity (through the Endorsed tab in any activity type, or from a member's credential history).
  2. Look for the Issue Certificate option on the endorsement detail screen.
  3. Tap Issue Certificate -- the 3-step wizard opens with fields pre-populated from the activity data:
    • Recipient name is filled from the member's profile
    • Date is filled from the activity date
    • Hours and cause are filled for volunteering activities
    • Description is derived from the activity details
  4. Complete the 3 steps as described above -- select a design, verify/edit the details, and issue.
info

Certificates created from an endorsed activity are linked to that activity. When the member views the certificate, they can also see the related activity details and any attached media.
