Duplicating Memberships

Duplicating a membership lets you create a new membership plan based on an existing one. Instead of starting from scratch, you copy all the configuration from a proven membership and adjust only what needs to change. This is especially useful when setting up seasonal plans, creating tiered offerings, or rolling over memberships from one period to the next.

info

Membership duplication is currently available on the FeatsClub mobile app. On the web dashboard, you can achieve the same result by creating a new membership and manually replicating the settings from an existing plan.

When to Use Duplication

Duplication saves time in several common scenarios:

  • New season or term -- Copy last season's "Fall Basketball" membership to create "Spring Basketball" with updated dates
  • Tiered memberships -- Create a "Gold" membership, then duplicate it to make "Silver" and "Bronze" variants with different pricing and benefits
  • Annual rollover -- When a fixed-date membership's term ends, duplicate it for the new year with updated start and end dates
  • Similar offerings -- If you offer memberships for different age groups or skill levels, duplicate a base plan and adjust the details for each group

What Gets Copied

When you duplicate a membership, the following information is carried over to the new plan:

CopiedDetails
Membership nameCopied as-is (you should rename it to avoid confusion)
DescriptionFull description text
BenefitsAll benefit items
Terms & ConditionsAll terms and conditions text
PricingBase fee, currency, and fee passthrough setting
Term configurationEnrollment type, payment type, and billing interval
Registration formThe enrollment registration form structure
Participant formThe per-participant form for group memberships
MediaCover images and videos
Member capacityNumber of people per membership
OptionsInvite-only, auto-renewal, and grandfathered pricing settings

What Does NOT Get Copied

Certain data is specific to the original membership and is not transferred:

Not CopiedWhy
Enrolled membersMember enrollments belong to the original plan -- the duplicate starts with zero members
Term datesStart dates, end dates, and enrollment deadlines are reset so you can set new ones
Member IDsThe serial number counter starts fresh (from the configured starting number)
Stripe/Cashfree product IDsNew payment product records are created when the duplicate is launched
Membership statusThe duplicate starts as Inactive (draft) so you can review and adjust before launching

How to Duplicate a Membership

On the Mobile App

  1. Open the FeatsClub app and go to your organization dashboard
  2. Navigate to Memberships
  3. Select the membership you want to duplicate
  4. Tap the options menu (three dots) and select Duplicate
  5. A new membership is created as a copy in Inactive status
  6. Open the new membership and edit any fields that need to change (name, dates, pricing)
  7. When ready, launch the membership to make it active

On the Web Dashboard (Manual Approach)

  1. Go to Dashboard > Memberships and select the membership you want to copy
  2. Note down or screenshot the settings you want to replicate
  3. Click Add Membership to start the creation wizard
  4. Enter the same settings from the original membership, adjusting what needs to change
  5. Complete the wizard and save the new membership
tip

When duplicating for a new season or year, start by duplicating the membership, then update just three things: the name (e.g., add the new year), the term dates, and the pricing if it has changed. Everything else can usually stay the same.

After Duplicating

Once you have duplicated a membership, take these steps before launching:

  1. Rename the membership -- Give it a clear, distinct name so it does not get confused with the original (e.g., "Youth Soccer 2026" instead of "Youth Soccer 2025")
  2. Update the term dates -- Set the correct start date, end date, and enrollment deadline for the new period
  3. Review pricing -- Adjust the base fee if your rates have changed
  4. Review benefits and terms -- Update any details that are specific to the new period
  5. Launch -- Change the status from Inactive to Active to make it available for enrollment
caution

Do not forget to rename a duplicated membership before launching it. Having two active memberships with the same name confuses both your members and your admin team.
