Certificates
App Only This feature is only available in the FeatsClub mobile app.
Certificates are formal digital credentials that your organization can issue to members to recognize achievements, completions, awards, and milestones. Unlike simple endorsements that award points, certificates produce a professional, shareable document that members can add to their portfolio.
What Are Certificates?
Certificates in FeatsClub are powered by the Sertifier platform, which provides professional certificate design templates and handles certificate generation. Each certificate includes:
- Certificate title -- The name of the credential (e.g., "Community Service Award", "Program Completion Certificate")
- Certificate description -- A summary of what the certificate recognizes
- Custom fields -- Dynamic data like recipient name, date, hours, and other details mapped to the certificate design
- Signatories -- One or more people who officially sign the certificate (name, title, and optional signature image)
- Certificate image -- The final generated certificate as a professional image
Two Ways to Create Certificates
Certificates can be created in two contexts:
| Method | When to Use | How It Works |
|---|---|---|
| From an endorsed activity | You want to attach a certificate to a specific endorsement | After endorsing an activity, use the "Issue Certificate" option -- the certificate wizard opens pre-populated with the activity's data |
| Standalone | You want to issue a certificate independently of any specific activity submission | Access the certificate management system directly from the Issue Certificates tile on Endorsement Home |
Both methods use the same 3-step certificate creation wizard. The only difference is that certificates created from an endorsed activity have their fields pre-populated with the activity's data.
Certificate Statuses
Each certificate progresses through three statuses:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Not_Issued | A certificate template or draft has been created but details have not been finalized |
| Pending | Certificate details have been filled in and the certificate is ready to be generated |
| Issued | The certificate has been generated, the image is available, and the member can view and share it |
Certificate Data
Every issued certificate stores the following information:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
certificateTitle | The title displayed on the certificate |
certificateDescription | A description of what the certificate recognizes |
designId | The Sertifier template design used to generate the certificate |
certificateFieldMap | A map of custom field names to their values (e.g., name, date, hours) |
certificateImageUrl | The URL of the generated certificate image |
signatoryList | The list of signatories with their names, titles, and signature images |
issuedAt | The date and time the certificate was issued |
Member Experience
Once a certificate is issued, the member can:
- View the certificate in their portfolio/achievements section
- Share the certificate to external platforms and social media
- Verify the certificate through an external verification link
- Filter certificates by issuing organization
Members cannot delete certificates. Certificates are owned by the issuing organization and can only be revoked or removed by an org admin. This ensures the integrity of the credentialing system.
