Removing a Payment Profile
If you no longer need a particular Stripe account connected to FeatsClub, you can remove it from your payment profiles. Removing a profile disconnects the Stripe account from FeatsClub -- it does not delete the Stripe account itself.
When to Remove a Profile
Common reasons for removing a payment profile:
- You are switching to a different Stripe account and no longer need the old one connected
- You are closing or consolidating a Stripe account
- You connected an account by mistake and want to clean up your profiles
- Your organization is restructuring and certain accounts are no longer relevant
How to Remove a Profile
- Open your Dashboard.
- Go to Settings in the sidebar.
- Select Payments (or Payment Profiles).
- Find the profile you want to disconnect.
- Click the "Remove" button on that profile's card.
- A confirmation dialog appears. Review the information and confirm the removal.
- The profile is removed from your Payment Profiles page.
Important Restrictions
Before removing a profile, be aware of these rules:
You Cannot Remove Your Last Active Profile
If you only have one active payment profile, FeatsClub will not allow you to remove it. This is because existing paid events, memberships, or donation campaigns may depend on having at least one active profile for payment processing.
If you need to replace your only profile:
- First, connect a new Stripe account (see Connecting Stripe).
- Then, set the new profile as the default (see Setting Default Profile).
- Finally, remove the old profile.
Never remove your only payment profile if you have active paid events, memberships, or donation campaigns. Doing so could prevent your organization from collecting payments. Always connect a replacement profile first.
Removing Does Not Delete Your Stripe Account
Removing a profile from FeatsClub only disconnects the Stripe account from the platform. Your Stripe account continues to exist independently. You can still:
- Log into your Stripe dashboard at dashboard.stripe.com
- View all historical transactions
- Receive any remaining payouts
- Manage the account directly with Stripe
If you want to actually close the Stripe account, you must do that separately through Stripe's own account settings.
Existing Transactions Are Not Affected
Any payments that have already been processed through the removed profile are not affected by removal:
- Completed transactions remain in your Stripe account's history
- Pending payouts will still be sent to your bank account on schedule
- Refunds on past transactions can still be issued from the Stripe dashboard
- Disputes on past transactions will still appear in Stripe
If you have active events or memberships that were assigned to the profile you are removing, those items may lose their payment processing capability. Make sure to reassign or close any active paid items before removing their associated profile.
After Removing a Profile
Once a profile is removed:
- It no longer appears on your Payment Profiles page
- It cannot be used for new paid items
- If it was the default, FeatsClub automatically designates another active profile as the new default (if one exists)
- You can reconnect the same Stripe account later if needed by going through the connection process again
