Benefits & Perks
Benefits and perks are a key part of your membership and are configured during Step 1: Basic Information. This page provides guidance and best practices for writing compelling membership benefits that drive enrollments.
Where Benefits Appear
The benefits you enter are displayed in several places:
- On the membership detail page that potential members see before enrolling
- In the enrollment confirmation after a member signs up
- On the Review & Launch step (Step 6) when you review your membership before publishing
- On your organization's public profile if the membership is visible
How to Enter Benefits
In Step 1 of the membership creation wizard, you will find a Membership Benefits text area. Enter a description of what members receive with this membership. You can use up to 2,000 characters.
Write benefits from the member's perspective. Focus on what they get, not what you provide. Instead of "We offer pool access", write "Unlimited access to our 25-meter heated indoor pool, open 7 days a week."
What Makes Great Benefits
Be Specific and Tangible
Members want to know exactly what they are getting. Vague benefits like "access to facilities" are less compelling than specific ones.
| Vague (Less Effective) | Specific (More Effective) |
|---|---|
| Class access | Unlimited access to all 30+ weekly group fitness classes |
| Event discounts | 20% discount on all ticketed events and workshops |
| Equipment use | Full access to weight room, cardio machines, and basketball courts |
| Newsletter | Monthly members-only newsletter with training tips and nutrition advice |

- Refund policy -- Under what circumstances are refunds provided?
- Membership transfer -- Can a membership be transferred to another person?
- Code of conduct -- Behavioral expectations while using facilities or attending events
- Liability waiver -- Any legal disclaimers or liability limitations

Both Benefits and Terms & Conditions are required fields. You cannot proceed to Step 2 without entering content in both fields.
